Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of medicine from China that dates back over 2,000 years.

By utilizing the body’s own energy (called “qi” in Chinese Medicine) acupuncture helps the body balance and re-align.  This can assist in healing nearly any health concern.

Most acupuncture visits last approximately 50 minutes. During this time you will be resting on a massage table in a calm, quiet, treatment room. A very gentle touch is used to insert hair-thin needles in the skin at specific points that help activate the body’s qi. This promotes movement of energy and supporting the natural healing process.

In some cases, massage and “cupping” may be used to loosen tight, sore muscles and promote the free-flow of qi throughout the body. After the treatment the doctor will include the appropriate instructions on diet, hydration, or exercise to further assist in the healing process.

Initially treatments are usually recommended on a weekly or biweekly basis depending on the concern. The number and frequency of treatments varies for each patient.
