Your PT Visit

Wondering what to expect at your first physical therapy visit? We'll answer some of your questions here!

We recommend to please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment so you can complete paperwork and provide us with insurance information. If you filled out the paperwork online (thank you!), we still ask that you arrive early in order for us to review your insurance benefits with you.

If you have a referral from your doctor please bring it along. A referral is not required in Washington State to see a physical therapist, but some insurance companies do require one. It’s ok if you don’t have one.

How long is each session?
Every patient is scheduled for a FULL 60 minutes with a physical therapist.

What Should I wear?
We recommend you wear loose, comfortable clothing that will expose the body part we will be treating, and allow you to move freely.

What Should I Expect?
When you arrive we will start by discussing your medical history and concerns, then move into a physical exam.

During the physical exam we will:
* evaluate your overall health
* measure your joint range of motion
* assess your soft tissue mobility
* test your muscle strength
* assess your posture
* test your nervous system function
* evaluate your biomechanics

After your physical exam we will:
We will then develop a treatment plan to address the findings from our exam. We provide treatment that reduces pain and inflammation, increases joint range of motion, improves posture, and improves strength through manual therapy, exercise, education, and modalities. If you don’t see your issue listed here, feel free to give us a call. Chances are we can help!
