Hair Restoration
PRP for Hair Growth
PRP has been shown to improve hair density and promote follicular proliferation. Here at Natural Medicine of Seattle, we’ve developed a Hair Restoration Program using PRP to slow hair loss and thinning.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is the fastest trending regenerative option for hair regrowth. The procedure is very straightforward and fairly quick. A regular blood draw is performed to collect your blood, which is processed in a centrifuge. The platelets are then removed from the blood sample and injected into your scalp while you relax comfortably.
Why platelets? Long known for wound healing, platelets produce growth factors. At high concentrations, growth factors stimulate the hair follicles, invigorating the follicular stem cells, promoting new hair growth.
Will It Hurt?
We provide the option to use a topical numbing cream, but many of our patients do great without it! You will feel little pricks and some pressure. The scalp injections usually take about 10-15 min. Your scalp may feel slightly uncomfortable and tight afterwards, which usually decreases within the day.
How Fast Will My Hair Grow Back?
We recommend 4 monthly treatments of PRP, followed by reassessment 2-3 months later. Typically hair growth can be seen by the 3rd treatment, as hair takes about 3 months to cycle and turnover. In the meantime, our patients note a reduced rate of hair loss, with stronger and thicker shafts of hair. The volume of hair regrowth will vary depending on the person and cause of the hair loss. You will be given at-home tools to continue promoting the process.
New to our clinic? What to expect:
First time patients to the clinic will have an hour long intake with the doctor, to review symptoms and to establish care.
Most patients require four to eight treatment sessions to realize the full benefits of the procedure, though many notice improvements after the first session. *Treatments are scheduled four weeks apart.
Pricing:
Initial consult for the doctor can be billed to in-network insurance companies. Our out of network pricing ranges from 240-280. A super bill can be provided to submit to your insurance for out of network reimbursement.
Treatment packages: 3500 for a series of 4 treatments. *Not billable to insurance. A red light helmet is included in purchase of your first package to be used at home to further the treatment of hair regeneration.

“I have been a patient of Dr. Lauren Procopio for about 3 years. I have used her specialty in therapeutic I.V. to avoid the flu this year twice, as well as Iron I.V. to treat my iron anemia. I am thankful there are options available for a self employed practitioner to maintain my health, avoid time loss, and walk the health talk. The treatments available go way beyond this and I highly recommend her as a Naturopathic Doctor.”
