About Natural Medicine of Seattle
What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic Medicine is among the oldest forms of medical treatment. Essentially, licensed Naturopathic Doctors (ND) use natural treatments and methods to encourage the body to heal itself. Over generations it has evolved to include more modern and research-based therapies. A licensed ND has the skills to prescribe therapeutic dietary and lifestyle changes, physical medicine treatments, herbal supplements, targeted nutrients, and medications when necessary. To learn more about the principles of Naturopathic Medicine, visit the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
More than primary care
Many Americans have recently found themselves searching for more comprehensive healthcare. Patients want more time to discuss their concerns, more treatment options, and innovative solutions. While Naturopathic Doctors are well-trained Primary Care Physicians (PCP), we are also the original practitioners of functional medicine. At Natural Medicine of Seattle, we always seek to discover the root cause of any concern, utilizing functional lab testing whenever necessary. Your visit will be thorough, your concerns will be heard, and we will create a collaborative plan for healing. See our services for more information about specific conditions.

Our roots run deep
Natural Medicine of Seattle was founded in 2008, by Dr. Margie Ikeda. We were one of the first, and are still one of the few clinics to offer IV micronutrient therapy. We are also proud to be a licensed residency site, participating in the prestigious Institute for Natural Medicine residency program. Additionally, every Naturopathic Doctor at our clinic has completed a two-year residency, following a minimum of four years of study at an accredited Naturopathic Medicine university and licensure in the state of Washington. We have truly been involved with the education of new physicians since our founding.

“After multiple trips to the er spanning a few years, I finally feel heard. The staff here listened to my input and asked far more questions than I had ever been asked. I felt comfortable throughout my visit and feel every concern I had was addressed. I’ll be coming here from now on.”
